”A glimpse into the life of a mother…
O V E R W H E L M I N G.
That’s one big word for it. Lol!
My sister had me over last night to help her get ready for a couple things going on this weekend. She’s been running around like a crazy woman on two hours of sleep the other day and didn’t have time to prepare for her prayer team she had to lead today. So last night I helped her out by finding some bible verses for her team. (I gotta say, finding specific bible verses really helped me out in reading the bible…I enjoyed it!).
After my brother-in-law and my sister left to this marriage conference down in southern Minnesota, I ended up taking over her role of being the mother for today:
- Woke up early and helped my sister finish preparing for her team.
- Took her 9 year old to the store to go and get a card for his friend’s birthday and then dropped him off to the party.
- Took her 18 year old to the mall to go pick up his tux for prom.
- Bought food for the hungry 5 and 18 year old at McD’s (maybe I should’ve cooked? Lol!).
- Dropped the 18 year old off to his date’s place and took their pictures.
- Picked the 9 year old up from his friend’s birthday party.
- And all along the way, I’m dragging the 5 year old along with me, EVERYWHERE I go.
…and it’s only the afternoon.
One thing I realized as a “mother” for today? You’re constantly driving!
There’s still half the day left and I have no idea what to expect but, I’m looking forward to it. I’ll most likely be with the two little ones…we’ll figure something out while we wait to pick up the 18 year old from prom. :)
